Treasures of the Vault: How Historical Collections Inform Current Events
Ever wondered what's in the University Libraries vault? Please join us for the first event in the Treasures of the Vault Series. Delve into University Libraries archival objects and collections that tell the tale of how historical collections inform current issues and civil rights. Led by faculty and staff from Special Collections and University Archives, this virtual event will share unique and valuable materials related to the University of Maryland's Studying Slavery 1856 Project, voting rights, as well as a new exhibit exploring the evolution of racial representation in commercial radio broadcasts. This will be a compelling and interactive virtual event that you won't want to miss!

This event is free and open to the public. UMD Libraries welcomes individuals with disabilities to participate in its programs and activities. Automatic captions will be available for this virtual event. If you would like to request professional caption service or other accommodations or have questions about the access provided, please contact libadmin@umd.edu at least one week in advance of your participation.
