2022_Webinar#2_The Economics of Climate Change: Cheaper to fix than to ignore_Dr. Sara Via
For years, powerful forces have told us that the high cost of climate action will hurt the economy while ignoring the costs of climate impacts, a classic form of disinformation.  Now the world’s financial institutions are coming to grips with the crippling economic risks caused by climate change and the loss of biodiversity. Learn about these risks and why financial institutions are concluding that it is better economic policy to curb climate change than to ignore it. The recognition by economists that climate action is a good investment is a necessary step to obtaining effective climate policy.
You will need to register for each webinar. If you register for more than one, you don't need to answer the questions about your profession and interests each time. I include these questions so that I can occasionally send people information that is of specific interest to them. After the webinar you will receive links to the recordings and key resources. If you have questions, email me at svia@umd.edu. Thanks for registering!
