Creating an Inclusive and Anti-Racist Classroom
The UMD SPH is hosting the second DEIA workshop on Tuesday, 2/8 3:30-5pm for SPH faculty (tenured, professional track, adjuncts) and GAs who teach (first workshop on 11/16). The workshop will be led by Louisa Nkrumah, Learning Experience Designer with the Teaching and Learning Center, and focus on:

* Course design considerations, including accessibility and universal design for learning
* Inclusive language
* Specific strategies to emphasize the importance of inclusivity and diversity in our courses
* Anti-racist principles and practices for curriculum

There will be content, breakout rooms with discussions of classroom implementations, case studies, scenarios, etc., and a breakout room for debrief and questions. Participants will complete a reflection/task to engage and prepare for the February session.
